Goal of the classes: That you accomplish making copper foil and lead projects. Leave with the knowledge and confidence to make other stained glass projects of your choice. Classes include training, materials and use of tools to complete the project.
Basic Stained Glass Class - Introduction to Stained glass tools, supplies and safety. Glass cutting practice. Learn to use the grinder. Copper foil technique. Soldering techniques. Make a flat panel.
Level I Beginner - Make a sun catcher. Learning pattern preparation, glass cutting. Wrapping the glass. Tinning edges.
Level II Beginner - 3-D project using copper foil. Making a standing angel, or sand paper weight.
Kaleidoscope Class - Learn how to cut front surface mirror and assemble. Crafting of outer viewing tube. Building and installing color wheels.
Intermediate Class - Lead came introduction. Preparation of pattern, lay out . Learn to solder lead came and construction. Make a lead flat panel.
Level I Intermediate Class - 3-D project using hobby came. Construct an angel, sun catcher or nativity.
Decorative Soldering - Advanced soldering techniques. How to add wire trim.
Patina Class - Learn about different patina. Preparation of zinc, lead and solder.
Advanced Stained Glass Class I - Build a window using lead came and zinc. How to measure opening, lay out pattern and install your finished project. Weatherproofing using glaze and whiting. Reinforcing large panels, skylights and doors.
Advanced Stained Glass Class II - Build a fireplace screen or window using copper foil and solder. Learn reinforcing techniques. Pattern layout, ideas for installation.
